The single WhatsApp group of the Addison Patients Community of Türkiye exists so that patients and their families can share experiences in a safe environment. Everyone who joins is deemed to have read and accepted the rules below.
Our core rules
- No alternative medicine. Any member who recommends alternative medicine, herbal/“natural” remedies or stopping medication is removed without discussion.
- Quiet hours: no messages between 23:00 and 09:00 (Türkiye time) except in emergencies.
- No off-topic messages: holiday/Bayram greetings, special-day messages and chat unrelated to the group’s purpose are not allowed.
- Careful, controlled sharing: what is discussed here directly affects people’s health; always share carefully and responsibly.
- Respect comes first: respect for group members comes before everything else.
- Remember: other members are Addison’s patients (or their relatives) too; choose your tone accordingly.
- Confidentiality: topics discussed in the group are patients’ personal data; they must never be copied, screenshotted or shared outside the group.
Additional rules and legal terms
- Not medical advice: what is shared in the group is members’ personal experience; it does not replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Make medication and dose decisions only with your doctor (endocrinologist).
- In an emergency, call 112 — not the group: if you suspect an adrenal crisis, use your emergency injection kit first and call 112; do not wait for a reply in the group.
- No trading: buying or selling medication, supplements or any product, advertising, requests for donations/money and referral links are prohibited. Trading prescription medicines between members is not legal.
- Do not share others’ data: members’ phone numbers, names, diagnosis details or photos may not be passed outside the group without their permission; private contact with a member outside the group requires their consent.
- Lawful content: insults, discrimination, political/religious propaganda, obscene content, misleading health information and content contrary to the laws of the Republic of Türkiye are not allowed.
- Moderator rights: group admins may delete messages that break the rules, warn members and, where they see fit, remove a member without prior notice. Serious breaches (rules 1 and 7, trading, insults) are not given a warning.
- Liability: each member is responsible for their own posts. The Addison Patients Community of Türkiye and the admins cannot be held liable for the consequences of decisions made on the basis of members’ posts.
- Personal data: the information you give for membership is processed only to evaluate your application and run your group membership, as explained in the Privacy Notice (KVKK).
- Leaving the group: you can leave at any time and ask for your data to be deleted at iletisim@addisonturkiye.com.
- Changes: the rules may be updated when needed; the current text is published on this page and announced in the group. Staying in the group means accepting the current rules.
- Governing law and jurisdiction: these rules are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye; the courts and enforcement offices of Samsun, Türkiye have jurisdiction over disputes.
